Burkina Faso: Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo officially takes office as Prime Minister

On Monday, December 9, 2024, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo was officially sworn in as the new Prime Minister of Burkina Faso. The ceremony, held in Ouagadougou, was presided over by Mathias Traoré, Secretary-General of the Government and the Council of Ministers.

Formerly the Minister of State for Communication, Culture, Tourism, and the Arts, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo succeeds Apollinaire Kyelem de Tambèla in leading the government.

A seasoned journalist and prominent cultural figure, Ouédraogo takes on the critical responsibility of steering governmental action during a period marked by significant security and economic challenges for the nation.

Expectations are high as the new Prime Minister begins his tenure. His initial actions will be closely monitored as Burkina Faso continues its determined efforts to address multidimensional challenges and move toward a more stable and prosperous future under the leadership of its administration.
