Burkina Faso: Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo assesses health infrastructure Projects in Bobo-Dioulasso

On the evening of January 24, 2025, Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo conducted a key inspection of several ongoing health infrastructure projects in Bobo-Dioulasso. Among the sites visited were the construction site of the new university teaching hospital, the radiotherapy center, and the Guimbi Ouattara maternity hospital.

This visit underscores the government’s commitment to equipping the country with modern, high-quality healthcare facilities to meet the growing demands of its population.

The first stop on the tour was the university teaching hospital, a flagship project nearing completion, with 95% of the work already done.

The Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction with the progress, noting that the facility is set to become a cutting-edge center for medical treatment and training, benefiting both the region and the entire nation.

“This is truly an impressive infrastructure,” he remarked, emphasizing the need to push forward with final steps, including road development, energy network installation, procurement of medical equipment, and improvements to the access road.

The inspection also covered the radiotherapy center, a critical project aimed at enhancing cancer treatment capabilities.

Once operational, the center will significantly improve care for patients requiring specialized therapies.

Additionally, the visit to the Guimbi Ouattara maternity hospital highlighted the government’s focus on reducing maternal and infant mortality by offering high-quality services to expectant mothers.

Under the leadership of President Ibrahim Traoré, the Burkinabe government is demonstrating its dedication to building a modern and resilient healthcare system.

These infrastructure projects, once completed, will not only address the immediate needs of local communities but also establish Bobo-Dioulasso as a regional hub for healthcare and development.
