The figures tell a story that words alone cannot fully convey. In two years, the Burkinabe state’s support for agropastoral producers jumped from 78 billion CFA francs for the 2024–2025 campaign to more than 104 billion for the 2025–2026 campaign. That is an increase of more than 33% in a single year one that says better than any speech how deep Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s commitment is to the country’s food sovereignty.
From the moment he came to power, the President of Faso made food self-sufficiency a non-negotiable priority, on a par with reclaiming the national territory. Not as a distant, conditional goal, but as a concrete commitment to Burkinabe producers the women and men who work the land, often without the means to draw out its full potential.
The two handovers of agropastoral equipment and inputs organized successively in 2024 and 2025 give this commitment tangible form: tractors, improved seeds, fertilizer and agricultural equipment distributed directly to producers across the country.
Behind these billions invested lie additional hectares cultivated, improved yields, better-filled granaries and rural families gradually regaining the means to produce what Burkina Faso needs to consume.
Feeding its people from its own land that is the equation Burkina Faso is solving, agricultural campaign after agricultural campaign, billion after billion.
