17 World Cup: Mali dominates Mexico, secures Quarter-Final Spot alongside Brazil and Spain

In an impressive display, Mali secured a spot in the quarter-finals of the U17 World Cup by crushing Mexico. Joining the ranks of Brazil and Spain, Mali’s stellar performance has earned them a place among the top contenders in the tournament

In a match clearly dominated by the Malians, Mahamoud Barry quickly put his partners in a comfortable position by scoring twice in the 5th and 13th minutes.

Ibrahima Diarra added a third in the 15th minute, taking the game out of the balance.

Dominant in all areas of the game, Mali went into the break with a 4-0 lead following a penalty converted by Ibrahima Konaté in the 37th minute.

At the start of the second half, Ange Martial Tia rounded off Mali’s attacking festival by scoring the 5th goal.

Thanks to this fine, comprehensive victory, Mali have booked their place in the quarter-finals.

In the other match of the day, Germany came from behind to beat the United States 3-2.
