Burkina-Faso: The Minister for Security reinforces the security arrangements for the festive season

The Ministry of Security is stepping up security measures around the population in the run-up to the festive season. The aim is to block the way to any internal or external threats during this period. The information, signed by Minister Emile Zerbo, was made public earlier this week.

The memo states that the measure applies to both urban and rural areas. The reinforcement of the security measures is aimed at «preventing and dealing with any possible threat with the utmost firmness» during the festive season, announced the minister, while reminding everyone of «the need to comply with the security instructions issued for this purpose».

In the press release, Mr Emile Zerbo reiterated to the public the importance of redoubling their vigilance and reporting any suspicious individuals or objects to the following numbers: 10 10; 16; 17.

He also stressed that «any refusal to report a reprehensible act will be punished in accordance with the relevant legal provisions», the press release concluded.

Having declared a merciless war against terrorism and all forms of insecurity, the authorities in Burkina Faso have been pulling out all the stops in recent days to guarantee the safety of people and property.

The patriotic forces have been mobilised and are keeping a constant watch to put out of action any individual who tries to disturb the peace of peaceful citizens.
