BURKINA-FASO: PEACE EFFORTS/ 4 ASSOCIATIONS CONTRIBUTE CFA 16 MILLION TO THE PATRIOTIC SUPPORT FUND

The call for contributions to address the security and humanitarian challenges in Burkina Faso continues to resonate positively among its citizens. Four associations have successfully raised 16 million CFA francs, which they presented on January 8th as their contribution to the war effort.

In a demonstration of solidarity, four associative structures brought their contributions to the Patriotic Support Fund (FSP) in Ouagadougou on January 8, 2024.

The aim is to support the government’s efforts in combating the insecurity stemming from the expansion of terrorism and addressing the humanitarian challenge.

The total amount of the donation stands at 16,565,000 CFA francs, with the breakdown as follows: 11,000,000 CFA francs contributed by the Professional Association of Tax Experts and Consultants, 3,300,000 CFA francs from the Association of Burkinabe Nationals in Séguéla, Côte d’Ivoire, 2,000,000 CFA francs from the Association of Garango Nationals in Naples, Italy, and 265,000 CFA francs mobilized by the Revo Let’s Think About Others Association (ARPA).

The ceremony, held in Ouagadougou and presided over by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Economy, Finance, and Prospective, Nicolas Kobiane, expressed gratitude to the donors.

He assured the donors of the responsible management of the mobilized resources and expressed hope that other organizations and associations would follow suit in supporting the collective struggle.

The proactive response of these associations to the call for contributions reflects the citizens’ commitment to actively participate in addressing the multifaceted challenges faced by Burkina Faso.

As the government and citizens join forces, this collaborative approach becomes a symbol of resilience and unity in the face of adversity.
