A New Chapter Awaits: Anticipation Builds for the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire

The 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled from January 13 to February 11, 2024, in Côte d’Ivoire, promises to be a captivating spectacle. Senegal, crowned champions in 2022, will defend their title against 23 other teams hungry for success.

Egypt, the inaugural champion in 1957 and the record holder with 7 victories, aims to secure an 8th trophy. Meanwhile, Algeria, eager to rediscover glory, will strive for another triumph, and Cameroon will pursue a sixth crown to inch closer to Egypt’s pharaonic record.

The competition looks intense, with uncertainty looming over whether a new champion will join the illustrious history of the AFCON. Only fifteen nations have etched their names on this prestigious continental trophy.

Historical winners of the Africa Cup of Nations:

1: Egypt (1957, 1959, 1986, 1998, 2006, 2008, 2010) – 7 titles
