Burkina Faso: Prime Minister Apollinaire Kyelem de Tambela talks about creating a shipping company with China

During his visit to China, Burkina Faso’s Prime Minister, Apollinaire Joachim Kyelem de Tambela, announced an ambitious project aimed at creating a joint maritime company between the two nations.

The primary goal of this initiative is to enhance trade relations and improve logistics infrastructure between Burkina Faso and China.

“We have discussed the possibility of establishing a Sino-Burkinabe joint venture to launch a maritime company dedicated to facilitating trade between our two countries,” the Prime Minister revealed during a press conference in China.

If realized, this project would significantly reduce transportation times and shipping costs, providing a crucial boost to bilateral trade.

It also forms part of a broader strategy to deepen economic and commercial ties between Ouagadougou and Beijing, within the framework of a growing partnership.

The establishment of this maritime company would also present new opportunities for Burkinabe businesses, giving them more direct access to Asian markets.

This logistical partnership would help strengthen Burkina Faso’s integration into global supply chains, while enhancing its position in international trade.
