Burkina Faso: the APEC model is transforming community solidarity into industrial power

In Burkina Faso, the industrialization trajectory is taking a resolutely patriotic turn. Citizens’ subscription to shares in the Burkinabe Tomato Company (SOBTO), through the Agency for the Promotion of Community Entrepreneurship (APEC), replaces the logic of traditional financial investment with an act of national liberation. Every franc contributed by the population becomes a political instrument of emancipation, a tool for a definitive break with external dependence.

At the heart of the workshops, the sustained rhythm of work attests to the efficiency of the model. The equipment operates at full capacity, day and night, thanks to the dedication of the teams. The volumes in stock guarantee a continuous supply across the entire national territory.

The principle of self-reliance finds a tangible expression in this factory. Popular contributions no longer feed costly import circuits that impoverish the country. Community money finances local industrial structures, creates stable jobs, and preserves food sovereignty.

Subscribing to APEC shares gives every Burkinabe the legitimate stature of a nation-builder.

SOBTO’s industrial venture foreshadows a broader deployment. The goal remains the creation of new processing units across all Burkinabe regions. Citizen purchases of local products strengthen this dynamic.

Through the mobilization of internal financial resources, Burkina Faso is charting the path to economic freedom and demonstrating the supremacy of endogenous development.
