President Ibrahim Traoré honours the commitment and devotion of his fellow citizens

President Ibrahim Traoré, Grand Master of the Burkinabe Orders, presided with solemnity this Friday over the official decoration ceremony marking the 63 anniversary of Burkina Faso’s accession to independence. This exceptional occasion was an opportunity to recognise and honour 357 daughters and sons of the country who have distinguished themselves through their dedication, professional value and quality of service to the country.

Among the recipients, 205 were elevated to the Order of the Stallion, a symbol of supreme distinction, while 152 were decorated in the Order of Merit, thus attesting to the diversity of merits recognised within the nation.

These decorations are a tangible expression of national recognition for those who, through their commitment, made a significant contribution to the reconquest of the national territory.

The nation expresses its gratitude to its sons and daughters from the public administration, the private sector, religious and customary communities, the cultural sector and the rural world, who have distinguished themselves through their dedication and professional excellence.

In this crucial period of reconstruction, these exceptional men and women embody the fundamental values that make Burkina Faso great.

This act of recognition is not only symbolic; it is also a solemn invitation to all citizens.

It encourages commitment and calls for a sacred union around the challenges of the Transition, with the aim of building a country of prosperity, anchored in its endogenous values.

During the ceremony, the Head of State warmly congratulated the recipients, praising their hard work and unwavering dedication to serving the nation.

These decorations are not only individual distinctions, but they also symbolise the collective strength needed to build a strong, united Burkina Faso that is resolutely focused on the future.
