Burkina Faso PM channels Sankara’s revolutionary spirit in call for sahel unity

Burkina Faso’s Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo recently invoked Thomas Sankara’s timeless words: “The slave who cannot assume his rebellion deserves no pity for his fate.” This powerful declaration serves as a rallying cry for the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) in their historic struggle for sovereignty, freedom, and dignity.

Imperialist powers and their local proxies have intensified destabilization efforts through media disinformation, diplomatic pressure, and covert operations – seeking to crush the Sahel’s emancipatory movement and restore neocolonial dominance.

Tragically, some regional actors have become complicit in this divisive agenda, manipulated by foreign interests.

Yet Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger stand resolute. Recent counterterrorism successes, the termination of exploitative agreements, and growing regional solidarity prove independence is achievable. The Sahel’s nations are rewriting their destiny through:

  • Military victories against insurgents
  • Strategic decolonization of partnerships
  • Unprecedented regional cooperation
  • As Sankara proclaimed, “We must dare to invent the future.”In this decisive hour, the Sahel peoples’ greatest weapons are:
  • Unbreakable AES unity
  • Vigilance against psychological warfare
  • Steadfast trust in their revolutionary leadership

The current destabilization attempts are merely death throes of a fading order that cannot accept Africa’s awakening. History’s gaze is upon the Sahel – this generation must meet the moment with unwavering determination. The revolution will not retreat.
