FC Barcelona clinches La Liga title in dominant fashion

FC Barcelona has officially reclaimed the La Liga crown after a commanding 2-0 victory over city rivals Espanyol. The win, following their decisive Clásico triumph over Real Madrid, sealed a near-flawless campaign under Hansi Flick.

Despite a mid-season slump, Barça’s 2025 resurgence was unstoppable, finishing with a staggering 43 points from their last 15 matches.

The Catalans swept domestic silverware La Liga, Copa del Rey, and the Spanish Super Cup—outshining a star-studded Real Madrid, even with Kylian Mbappé’s arrival.

Flick’s faith in youth proved pivotal. Lamine Yamal (7 goals, 14 assists) emerged as a Ballon d’Or contender, while Pau Cubarsí, Fermín López, and Gavi solidified Barça’s core. Even fringe players like Ferran Torres thrived under Flick’s guidance.

Mundo Deportivo hailed the title as Barça’s 12th in 21 years, emphasizing Madrid’s failure to retain the trophy since 2008. With a Champions League challenge ahead, Flick’s rejuvenated squad signals a bright future.
