Algiers: 528 breaches of the highway code recorded in the last month
Last November, the security services of the wilaya of Algiers reported a significant number of breaches of the Highway Code, mainly linked to the absence of vehicle documents.
A press release from the authorities indicates that 26,528 offences were recorded, including violations such as not wearing a helmet, not having the required driving licence documents, illegal parking, failure to obey traffic lights, and driving at excessive speed. In the same month, 162 road accidents took place, resulting in the death of six people and causing injuries to 164 others.
In addition, the capital’s security services recorded 126 offences relating to construction without permits, as well as 18 violations of building permits issued. On another front, public police officers and their teams, deployed in various urban security stations, carried out checks on 2,270 commercial activities.
At the same time, 46 closure orders issued by the relevant authorities were enforced.
