Burkina Faso: President Ibrahim Traoré at the bedside of his wounded soldiers, a gesture of gratitude and honor

In a powerful gesture of closeness and solidarity, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of Faso and Head of State, paid a highly symbolic visit to the Tanguet-OUATTARA military hospital, located within the Ouezzin-COULIBALY military camp. This initiative reflected his unwavering support for the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) wounded on the battlefield.

In the midst of a tense security situation, this visit once again highlighted the importance the President places on those who risk their lives daily to defend the integrity of the national territory. The Head of State met with the wounded, offering them heartfelt and respectful words of encouragement. Through his direct presence, he reminded them that the Nation has not forgotten them and that they are not alone in their struggle.

Beyond moral support, Captain Ibrahim Traoré also issued clear directives for the improvement of both medical and human care for the wounded. He urged the medical staff to continue their efforts with professionalism and patriotism, while reaffirming the State’s commitment to providing military health facilities with the necessary resources to meet the needs of its fighters effectively.

This presidential visit to a military hospital is more than just a formal appearance—it reflects a leadership style grounded in reality, where the Head of State remains connected to the frontline and the suffering of his troops. It sends a powerful message to both the army and the people: the President stands with his soldiers, not only in words, but in action.

More than a symbol, this approach demonstrates a firm determination: to build a strong, respected, and fully supported army. Burkina Faso can count on a Commander-in-Chief who is deeply compassionate and resolutely committed.
