Burkina Faso / Captain Ibrahim Traoré wins 76% of the vote: A President on his feet in the face of manipulation

According to a recent survey conducted by an independent NGO operating in several Sahel countries, President Ibrahim Traoré enjoys an estimated approval rating of 76% among the population.

This remarkable figure reflects the growing support among Burkinabe citizens for the sovereignist and security-driven vision championed by the young leader, despite numerous attempts to undermine his authority.

The survey, conducted between March and April 2025 across thirteen regions of Burkina Faso, reveals that a majority of citizens applaud the efforts made to restore security, strengthen territorial integrity, and assert the country’s political and economic independence.

According to the report, this popularity is also attributed to “President Ibrahim Traoré’s unwavering anti-imperialist stance, his direct communication style, and his ability to embody a break from past practices.”

This public endorsement comes amid a complex backdrop of escalating destabilization attempts diplomatic pressures, disinformation campaigns, economic sabotage yet far from yielding, the Burkinabè people are rallying behind their leadership.

In both rural and urban areas, a significant portion of the population sees Captain Ibrahim Traoré as a bulwark against foreign interference and a beacon of hope for profound and lasting change.

Given these realities, it is essential to commend the courage, maturity, and determination of the Burkinabe people.

Through their strong and steadfast support, they demonstrate that no external manipulation can break a popular movement rooted in dignity, sovereignty, and the pursuit of peace.

This synergy between the authorities and the people could well lay the foundation for a new Burkinabe resilient and in full control of its destiny.
