Togo hosts 3rd African political Alliance Ministerial conference in Lomé

Lomé, the Togolese capital, today welcomes the 3rd Ministerial Conference of the African Political Alliance (APA) a strategic gathering underscoring Togo’s growing role as a diplomatic leader for a continent seeking greater global justice and equity.

Held under the theme “Africa’s Place in a Changing World: The Imperative for Strategic and Diplomatic Repositioning”, the event brings together ministers, diplomats, intellectuals and civil society members united by one goal: amplifying Africa’s voice in reshaping global power dynamics.

Lomé’s selection as host reflects Togo’s diplomatic ascent under President Faure Gnassingbé’s leadership and Foreign Minister Robert Dussey’s skilled statecraft.

In recent years, Togo has emerged as Africa’s articulate advocate for a more just, inclusive and representative world order.

As a persistent champion of UN Security Council reform, Togo’s foreign policy establishment continues to argue that Africa can no longer accept passive observer status in global governance.

By hosting this conference, Togo demonstrates committed, visionary leadership. In a world undergoing profound transformation, the nation is leveraging proactive diplomacy to position Africa at the heart of international decision-making.
