DRC: Félix Tshisekedi champions infrastructure development in Kolwezi

KOLWEZI — President Félix Tshisekedi reinforced his administration’s commitment to national development by inaugurating three major infrastructure projects in Lualaba Province on Monday. The newly unveiled Congress Village, provincial government multipurpose hall, and modern administrative buildings mark a significant leap in Kolwezi’s urban transformation.

During the ceremony, Lualaba Governor Fifi Masuka highlighted how these facilities elevate the mining region’s capacity to host international events, previously concentrated in Africa’s capital cities.

The Congress Village complex, featuring a 1,500-seat amphitheater and premium accommodations, positions Kolwezi as a emerging hub for global mining conferences.

Félix Tshisekedi emphasized that such tangible projects form the cornerstone of his vision for a modernized DRC.

The infrastructure push comes as the government seeks to decentralize economic activity from Kinshasa while strengthening provincial governance structures.

With additional development projects expected during the President’s working visit, these inaugurations demonstrate the administration’s focus on converting mineral wealth into lasting infrastructure benefits for regional populations.

The modern facilities address both immediate administrative needs and long-term economic diversification goals in this strategic mining region.
