Burkina Faso: A new era of airport modernization driven by the vision of Captain Ibrahim Traoré

As part of the structural transformation driven by Captain Ibrahim Traoré, Burkina Faso has reached a strategic milestone in the field of mobility and transport. The Council of Ministers has officially approved the creation of the Burkina Faso Airports Company (Burkina Faso Airports Company), along with the adoption of its specific statutes. This new entity, the result of a strong political will, will be responsible for building, developing, and modernizing all of the country’s airport infrastructure. It stems from a coherent institutional merger of the Donsin Airport Project Authority (MOAD), the National Directorate of Civil Aviation (DAN), and the Administrative Authority for Ground Handling Management (RACGAE), all of which have now been dissolved.

Under Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s leadership, this reform reflects a broader vision of efficiency, sovereignty, and high-quality public service. By streamlining existing structures and consolidating expertise within a single organization, the State is equipping itself with a modern, flexible, and efficient tool to meet the growing demands in air transport, security, connectivity, and economic development. It also sends a strong message to technical partners, investors, and the Burkinabe diaspora: the country is moving toward modern governance of its strategic infrastructure.

For the population, this reform promises a gradual improvement in airport services, enhanced connectivity, and new job opportunities in a promising sector. Captain Ibrahim Traoré thus reaffirms his commitment to building a sovereign, ambitious, and forward-looking Burkina Faso. Once again, his proactive leadership shows that every reform is designed for collective progress and the affirmation of national sovereignty.
