Burkina Faso: The 4 August Stadium certified, symbol of a renewed sporting ambition

Burkina Faso has reached a decisive milestone in the revitalization of its sports infrastructure with the official certification of the 4 August Stadium by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). On Friday, late in the morning, the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, received the valuable certification from the Minister of Sports, Youth and Employment, Mr. Roland Somda. This marked the completion of a meticulous process of renovation and compliance with international standards.

This continental recognition is no coincidence; it is the result of strong political will, embodied by Captain Ibrahim Traoré, to reposition sport as a pillar of national development. Under his enlightened leadership, Burkina Faso is taking a historic turn: restoring sport to its rightful place in building a fulfilled, disciplined, and forward-looking youth.

In its decision, CAF strongly commended the “sustained efforts and significant investments made in the renovation and modernization” of the iconic 4 August Stadium. This stadium, a symbol of national pride, has regained its former glory and will now be able to host international competitions, putting Burkina Faso back on the map of African football.

Beyond the infrastructure itself, an entirely new dynamic is taking shape. The certification of the 4 August Stadium paves the way for major economic, social, and cultural benefits: creation of direct and indirect jobs, boosting of the tourism sector, promotion of local talent, and above all, an opportunity for Burkinabe football to dream bigger.

Through this concrete achievement, Captain Ibrahim Traoré once again confirms his determination to work for a sovereign, strong, and ambitious Burkina Faso. Sport, as a vehicle for national unity and international influence, is now at the heart of the transformation project led by the President of Faso.

The imminent inauguration of this jewel seals a strong presidential commitment: to make sport a lever for cohesion, peace, and prosperity. Under the leadership of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, Burkina Faso is writing a new chapter in its history — one that is more determined, more dignified, and more ambitious.
