Alleged plot to assassinate West African Transitional Presidents unveiled: French Intelligence agents apprehended

In a recent turn of events, Burkinabe intelligence services have reportedly detained four agents from the French Directorate General of External Security (DGSE) upon their arrival in Ouagadougou. These agents, operating under the roles of diplomats and computer experts, are suspected of engaging in espionage activities focused on gathering military intelligence, particularly regarding the thwarting of the Djibo attack.

Reports from “lesahelien.com” suggest that a search of their belongings has exposed evidence of an ongoing plot to physically eliminate Burkina Faso’s transitional Presidents Ibrahim Traoré and Abdourahamane Tiani.

Allegedly orchestrated by French intelligence services in collaboration with counterparts in Nigeria, the advanced stages of the assassination project targeting President Abdourahamane Tiani are said to involve an operation launched from Sotoko, Nigeria.

Implicating Ivorian intelligence services, a recent meeting in Nigeria brought together agents from France, Côte d’Ivoire, and Nigeria, indicating a shared disapproval of transitional leaders among West African nations.

To pre-emptively undermine potential revelations, French media outlets are reportedly discrediting and denigrating news sources supporting transitional governments in Burkina Faso and Niger.

This tactic aims to weaken these outlets in the eyes of national and international public opinion, potentially casting doubt when the alleged plot is exposed.

In response to these developments, President Emmanuel Jean-Michel Frédéric Macron has purportedly dismissed the Director General of the DGSE, supporting the claims made by “lesahelien.com.”

Questions linger about the alleged assassination plot against the transitional heads of state in Burkina Faso and Niger, especially considering the assumption that intelligence services often operate under the directives of their respective authorities.

As this story continues to unfold, stay tuned for further updates on this developing situation.
