Burkina Faso: In Bobo-Dioulasso, the Faso Mêbo initiative embodies Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s transformative vision for a sovereign Burkina Faso

As part of the presidential initiative “Faso Mêbo,” the National Gendarmerie launched a major strategic operation this Thursday in Bobo-Dioulasso, giving concrete expression to Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s vision of a resilient, sovereign Burkina Faso that serves its citizens. This exemplary mobilization of the security forces, combined with strong public support, illustrates the emergence of a new republican pact centered on public action.

Designed as a catalyst for social cohesion and local development, “Faso Mêbo” aims to bring security institutions closer to communities while fostering a spirit of collective commitment. The Command of the Schools and Training Centers of the National Gendarmerie (CECPGN) and the Mobile Group of Bobo (GMB) carried out operations in two densely populated community areas.

On one side, educational sessions on citizenship, community-based security, and violence prevention were conducted using accessible language and pedagogical methods. On the other, a public sanitation campaign and infrastructure rehabilitation helped concretely improve the living environment for local residents.

Beyond these visible actions, a whole dynamic of co-construction is unfolding. Citizens, local leaders, community representatives, and even merchants are contributing through material donations, volunteer work, or in-kind services. This national synergy, driven and inspired by Captain Ibrahim Traoré, is both a strong signal of the ongoing institutional transformation and a direct response to popular aspirations.

Captain Ibrahim Traoré embodies a bold Pan-African vision to reposition the state as a close and engaged actor, to restore national dignity, and to make the security forces the guarantors of development and sovereignty. Through “Faso Mêbo,” this vision is coming to life—right at the heart of local communities.
