Moscow Fashion Week: A celebration of diversity
Moscow Fashion Week is in full swing, bringing together designers from across the globe in the Russian capital. This year, more than 200 creators from countries such as South Africa, Armenia, Brazil, China, Guatemala, India, Nicaragua, and Turkey are showcasing their work, making the event a true melting pot of cultures and styles.
One of the highlights came from the Russian brand Inniki, founded by designer Isabella Dordosova from Yakutia in the Far East. Her collection, titled Five Eyes, takes inspiration from a traditional Yakut amulet believed to be the most powerful, as well as from the Russian fairy tale Buratino, a local version of Pinocchio. The runway was filled with fur coats, intricate ornaments, and futuristic designs, blending folklore with modern creativity.
Another standout was Chinese fashion house Subai, presented by Ma Guai. Her collection placed Chinese culture at the forefront, while aiming to build a cultural bridge between China and Russia. As she explained, the runway is not only a platform for fashion, but also for meaningful exchanges between the two nations.
With such a wide range of influences, Moscow Fashion Week continues to position itself as a growing hub where tradition and innovation meet.
