Seko Fofana Bids Farewell to the Elephants

First, Seko Fofana has announced his retirement from international football with Côte d’Ivoire. The 31-year-old midfielder confirmed his decision on Monday after nearly a decade with the national team.

“Dear Ivorian supporters, it is time for me to turn the page,” he wrote on social media. His decision brings an end to a journey that gave him the biggest prize in African football: the Africa Cup of Nations.

Despite falling behind, Côte d’Ivoire fought back. Franck Kessié and Sébastien Haller scored to secure a third African title for the country.
