DRC / President Félix Tshisekedi’s security vision: Protecting the Congolese nation from internal and external threats

President Félix Tshisekedi, recently re-elected for a second term, is committed to enhancing the security of the Congolese population and preserving the territorial integrity of the country. In the face of threats posed by neighboring states, external and international actors—sometimes with the involvement of certain Congolese individuals—the Head of State has implemented a determined and proactive security policy.

At the forefront of President Tshisekedi’s security agenda is the protection of the population.

His administration has undertaken targeted initiatives to ensure the safety of citizens across all regions of the country.

This involves bolstering the internal security forces, upgrading equipment, and improving intelligence capabilities to proactively anticipate and prevent potential threats.

The stability and territorial integrity of the Democratic Republic of Congo have faced challenges due to unclear intentions from some neighboring states.

In response, President Tshisekedi has taken a firm stance. Robust defense strategies have been enacted to safeguard national borders and uphold the sovereignty of the country.

President Tshisekedi’s security policy goes beyond national borders. Diplomatic measures have been strongly pursued to counter attempts at foreign interference and thwart malicious actions orchestrated by international actors.

What distinguishes President Félix Tshisekedi’s security policy is its resolute stance against both external and internal threats.

By prioritizing the protection of the population, the defense of territorial integrity, and the fight against detrimental foreign influences, the Congolese Head of State underscores his unwavering commitment to national security.

These collective efforts contribute to fostering a climate of trust and stability, creating an environment conducive to the development and prosperity of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
