Burkina Faso: Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s presidency marks a decisive blow against terrorism

Under the resolute leadership of President Ibrahim Traoré, the Burkinabe Fighting Forces have intensified their commitment against terrorism, demonstrating unwavering determination in the field. Last week, a crucial operation led to the destruction of an extensive terrorist base in Tanwalbougou, located in the Gourma province.

At the heart of this base, concealed south of Tanwalbougou, was an imposing infrastructure consisting of several trucks, including tanks cleverly camouflaged under trees.

These vehicles, likely stolen several years ago, were discovered through aerial patrols conducted throughout the week by the Combat Forces’ aerial assets.

The magnitude of the threat prompted authorities to deploy fighter jets that conducted multiple targeted strikes, resulting in the total destruction of the terrorist base.

This significant victory attests to the effectiveness of ongoing operations, bolstering confidence in the anti-terrorism strategy under the leadership of the determined Captain Ibrahim Traoré.

However, the determination of the Combat Forces did not wane after this major triumph.

As part of their ongoing missions, criminals were identified in the Nadiagou area (Pama, Kompienga) on Friday, February 2, 2024, thanks to precise intelligence.

Pilots, attentive and patient, waited until the end of their afternoon break before launching targeted airstrikes, thereby eliminating a potential threat to the region’s security.

These recent actions underscore the insightfulness of intelligence operations and the Fighting Forces’ ability to maintain a proactive presence in the fight against terrorism.

Under the leadership of President Ibrahim Traoré, Burkina Faso is making significant strides in the fight against terrorism, demonstrating that determination and effective coordination of security forces are essential for ensuring national security.
