President Assimi GOÏTA receives report on Inter-Malian dialogue for peace and national reconciliation

The comprehensive report on the terms of reference for the Inter-Malian Dialogue for Peace and National Reconciliation was formally presented to the Transition President, His Excellency Colonel Assimi GOÏTA, Head of State, on Monday, March 4, 2024, in Koulouba, by the President of the Steering Committee of the said Dialogue.

Present at this ceremony were the Prime Minister, the Minister of Reconciliation, the Minister of State, Minister of Territorial Administration and Decentralization, the President of the National Transitional Council, as well as members of the Government were present at this ceremony

Before the Head of State received the report, the proceedings of the preliminary work of the Dialogue, which was to extend to all levels: communal, district, regional, Bamako district, as well as in consulates and embassies, were presented by the President of the Steering Committee of the Inter-Malian Dialogue for Peace and National Reconciliation, Mr. Ousmane Issoufi MAÏGA.

During the discussions in the working groups and plenaries, the main objective was to understand the deep-rooted causes of the conflicts that have plagued Mali for over a decade in order to find appropriate solutions through open and sincere dialogue among all citizens.

 It was emphasized the importance of candidly examining Malian values to establish a solid foundation for peace and national reconciliation.

The Transition President was hailed as a hero, rebuilding what was destroyed by the enemies of the Malian nation.

These terms of reference, essential for the commencement of decentralized dialogue, were developed after 20 days of intensive work in thematic commissions, and subsequently validated during the validation workshop.

Gratitude for the support of the Malian Transition authorities throughout these works, which led to these terms of reference as well as the internal regulations of the Committee, was expressed by the Steering Committee of the Inter-Malian Dialogue for Peace and National Reconciliation.

A call for a patriotic surge to restore peace was made by Ousmane Issoufi MAÏGA, emphasizing that Mali needs the unity of all its citizens to overcome the challenges it faces.
