Chelsea held to disappointing draw by Bottom-dwellers Sheffield United

Chelsea faced disappointment in their away fixture against Sheffield United on Sunday, during the 31st round of Premier League matches, as they were held to a 2-2 draw by the league’s bottom side. Both teams have had underwhelming seasons, with Chelsea sitting in 9th place in the standings before the match, albeit with two games in hand.

On the other hand, Sheffield United finds themselves rooted at the bottom of the table, seemingly destined for relegation.

Just days ago, Chelsea impressed with a 4-3 victory over Manchester United in one of the season’s most goal-laden matches, while Sheffield United suffered a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool.

Chelsea started the match brightly, taking the lead in the 11th minute when Thiago Silva found the net from Gallagher’s corner (1-0).

However, the Blades managed to equalize just ten minutes later.

Hamer delivered a precise pass behind Chelsea’s defense for Jayden Bogle, who, from a tight angle on the right side of the box, beat Petrovic. In the second half, Chelsea regained the lead.

In the 66th minute, Cole Palmer found Madueke, who penetrated the left side of the box before unleashing a left-footed shot that beat Ivo Grbic with power. Chelsea thus reclaimed the lead on the scoreboard.

However, in stoppage time, Sheffield leveled the score through McBurnie. No winner emerged between the two teams !
