Togo: Prospects for investment in the country’s key sectors in sight with the Commonwealth Entreprise Council

Togo, having joined the Commonwealth under President Faure Gnassingbé’s leadership, is actively exploring avenues of cooperation with the organization two years into its membership.

As part of this effort to diversify and strengthen collaboration, the Togolese government engaged in discussions with a delegation from the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC).

The meeting, focused on exploring cooperation prospects between Togo and the Commonwealth, provided a platform for Prime Minister Victoire Dogbé and the Commonwealth delegation to emphasize increased collaboration in sectors critical to the nation’s well-being and economic advancement.

Both parties agreed to mobilize additional investments in vital sectors such as healthcare, energy, tourism, sanitation, and digital technology.

This engagement with the CWEIC underscores the government’s dedication to invigorating the national economy through diversified investments, aiming to propel the country’s overall development.

The specific emphasis on healthcare, energy, and digital sectors underscores the government’s resolve to address primary citizen needs, including improved access to quality healthcare and electricity.

In the coming years, the Togolese population can anticipate the establishment of more healthcare facilities, the expansion of solar energy infrastructure, and enhanced collaboration across sectors, fostering growth and progress for the nation.
