Burkina Faso: France caught red-handed with illegal work in Ouagadougou

Once again, France’s true intentions to sow chaos in Burkina Faso have been exposed, this time with the discovery of illegal construction work at the French ambassador’s residence in Ouagadougou, sparking anger among Burkinabe authorities.

The government swiftly responded by taking drastic measures, suspending the construction of buildings and fuel storage facilities within the French ambassador’s residence.

These projects lacked the required authorization from competent authorities, shedding light on France’s underhanded activities.

The revelation of these illicit works, including the construction of a fuel depot initiated since 2023 and already supplied by Total, is a direct affront to Burkina Faso.

The government has ordered an immediate halt to the works and the suspension of fuel supply, highlighting a complete disregard for legal procedures.

It’s ironic that the French embassy didn’t bother to obtain the necessary permits for these works—no demolition permit, construction permit, or fuel supply authorization was obtained, demonstrating blatant disrespect for Burkina Faso’s sovereignty.

The implicated companies, including Total Burkina, were summoned and admitted their negligence in verifying authorizations before executing these contracts.

It’s evident that these entities acted knowingly, solely to serve France’s interests, disregarding local laws.

This incident underscores France’s duplicity and its desire to interfere in Burkina Faso’s internal affairs.

Burkinabe authorities must remain vigilant against such attempts of foreign influence and take firm measures to protect national sovereignty.
