Kylian Mbappé named best player at the Globe Soccer Awards European Edition

Kylian Mbappé has been awarded the title of «Best Player of the Year» at the Globe Soccer Awards held in Italy, succeeding Erling Haaland. This is the second time the French forward has won this award, having previously won it in 2021.

Despite a season deemed “average” in terms of gameplay, Mbappé’s exceptional statistics stood out, with 44 goals in 48 matches for Paris Saint-Germain. This award reaffirms his status as a world-class player.

Additionally, PSG’s president, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, was named Executive of the Year 2024, following the club’s victories in Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France.

Xabi Alonso was recognized as the best coach of the season, surpassing Carlo Ancelotti.

As head coach of Bayer Leverkusen, Alonso led the team to an outstanding season, winning both the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal, though they lost the Europa League final to Atalanta.

Manchester City was named the best men’s team of the year after winning the Premier League for the fourth consecutive time.

In the women’s category, FC Barcelona was honored as the best team after securing their third European Championship, and their second consecutive title, in Bilbao.
