Burkina Faso: Air Burkina revitalized under the leadership of Captain Ibrahim Traoré
The revival of Air Burkina signals a significant milestone in Burkina Faso’s efforts to modernize its aviation sector. Spearheaded by Captain Ibrahim Traoré, the government has fulfilled its promise to restore and strengthen the national airline, which had previously faced operational setbacks.
Once a player in international routes, including flights to Europe, Air Burkina’s ambitions were hindered by fleet issues.
Now, with the acquisition of a new aircraft, the airline is poised to reclaim its position in the regional aviation landscape.
Last Saturday, a brand-new Embraer 190 was officially welcomed in Ouagadougou, marking a fresh chapter for the airline.
The aircraft, featuring 6 business-class seats and 92 economy-class seats, is equipped to offer a high-quality flight experience while remaining competitive on domestic and regional routes.
Air Burkina is set to take off again on October 2, with the first flights scheduled to operate domestically to Bobo-Dioulasso, and regionally to key cities such as Abidjan, Accra, Bamako, Cotonou, Lomé, and Niamey.
The revival of Air Burkina represents not just an investment in the aviation sector but a broader commitment to enhancing the country’s connectivity and economic growth.
This strategic move underscores the government’s dedication to ensuring a more prosperous and interconnected Burkina Faso.
