Niger: The authorities have taken a decisive step towards energy autonomy with the new Dosso refinery

Niger is making rapid strides toward energy independence and maximizing its natural resources with the launch of a landmark project: the construction of a petroleum refinery in the Dosso region.

This initiative, spearheaded by the CNSP authorities under President Abdourhamane Tiani, is set to reshape Niger’s energy landscape, greatly enhancing its self-sufficiency and reducing reliance on imported petroleum products.

The refinery aims to meet the country’s domestic needs for refined products, significantly cutting down on fuel imports and reinforcing energy security.

Beyond achieving energy self-sufficiency, this project is expected to bring substantial economic development to the Dosso region.

Furthermore, the refinery aligns with President Tiani’s broader strategic vision to capitalize on Niger’s natural resources, strengthening economic independence and fostering national growth.

With this step, Niger underscores its commitment to leveraging its resources for the advancement and well-being of its people.
