Burkina Faso: Call for unity between the peoples of Côte d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso in the face of imperialist manipulation

The growing animosity between Ivoirians and Burkinabe, particularly visible on social media, has become a dangerous tool of discord. These escalating tensions, fuelled by misinformation and inflammatory rhetoric, only serve those who thrive on chaos and division. By focusing on internal quarrels, we lose sight of the real challenges and threats to our collective progress.

Behind these orchestrated conflicts lie external forces and imperialist agendas that exploit our disunity to tighten their grip on our resources and influence.

Local accomplices, often individuals with significant power, exacerbate the situation by manipulating nationalist and xenophobic sentiments for personal or political gain. These actions weaken both nations, leaving them vulnerable to further exploitation.

It is imperative that citizens of Côte d’Ivoire and Burkina Faso recognize these divisive strategies for what they are—tools to fracture solidarity and undermine shared goals.

History and cultural ties between the two countries underscore their interconnected futures.

Challenges such as combating terrorism, boosting economic development, and improving living standards require collaboration, not confrontation.

To move forward, the cycle of hate and divisive rhetoric must end. Social media should be a platform for fostering understanding and rejecting incitement.

True patriots from both nations must expose and reject those who spread discord, ensuring that their actions do not derail efforts to build unity.

The time has come for Ivoirians and Burkinabe to strengthen their bonds, work together for peace, and confront common adversaries.

The future of both nations depends on collective action, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to prosperity. Only through unity can we overcome manipulation and secure a brighter future for all.
