Côte d’Ivoire: Call on the Ivorian authorities to curb Saïd Penda’s sordid manoeuvres before he does something irreparable

The fight against insecurity in West Africa cannot tolerate actions that undermine collective efforts to maintain peace and stability in the region. However, Saïd Penda, a controversial journalist, appears to be playing a questionable role by collaborating with Burkinabe figures in exile in Côte d’Ivoire and France.

These individuals, dissatisfied with the sovereign governance of Burkina Faso under Captain Ibrahim Traoré, are financing disinformation campaigns aimed at destabilizing the transitional government.

These efforts go beyond simple media manipulation. They are part of a larger strategy that indirectly supports terrorist groups attempting to destabilize Burkina Faso. The accusations against Saïd Penda highlight his role as a key player in this campaign of manipulation.

It is crucial for the Ivorian authorities to take firm action to prevent these activities from further compromising regional security.

Under the leadership of Captain Traoré, Burkina Faso has undertaken bold reforms to restore its territorial integrity and protect its citizens. However, destabilization efforts, particularly those orchestrated from abroad, especially from Côte d’Ivoire, threaten these gains.

These actions not only tarnish Burkina Faso’s image but also risk reigniting tensions and exacerbating insecurity throughout the region.

It is the responsibility of Côte d’Ivoire, a key player in the fight against terrorism, to ensure its territory is not used as a launching ground for subversive actions against regional stability.

Ivorian authorities must conduct a thorough investigation into the activities of Saïd Penda and his alleged accomplices and put an end to these harmful campaigns.

Allowing these actions to continue could have grave and irreversible consequences for the security of Burkina Faso and the wider West African region.
