Togo/Economy: Organisers delighted with provisional results of 2024 Lomé International Fair

The 2024 edition of the Lomé International Fair concluded on Sunday, December 8, after two weeks of vibrant activity. Starting on November 22, the event attracted 1,300 exhibitors from 22 countries, surpassing the 2023 figures of 1,200 exhibitors from 20 countries.

Hosted by the Togolese Center for Exhibitions and Fairs (CETEF), the fair proved to be a remarkable platform for trade and cultural exchange.

Visitor numbers soared this year, with a provisional count of 704,000 attendees—a significant 21% increase from the 600,000 recorded last year.

Business-to-business (B2B) engagements also saw growth, with 680 meetings yielding 203 commitments, compared to 647 meetings and 161 commitments in 2023.

The CETEF Director highlighted the event’s multidimensional value, noting, “This year’s fair reaffirmed that the FIL is not just a commercial gathering but a hub for cultural exchange, innovation, and forward-thinking.” He added that the upcoming 20th edition aims to be even more ambitious and groundbreaking.

Held under the theme “Standards and Quality of Products and Services: Tools for Competitiveness and Access to Connected Markets,” the fair also featured Mali as the guest of honor, showcasing a diverse delegation of 20 exhibitors.

The success of this year’s edition sets high expectations for the next chapter in Lomé’s celebrated trade event.
