Burkina Faso/Destabilisation: Propaganda media put forward to carry out the enemies’ nefarious plans

As 2024 draws to a close, the threat of destabilization looms over Burkina Faso and other member states of the AES Confederation. Credible sources suggest that the French Directorate-General for External Security (DGSE) and its allies are intensifying efforts to execute strategies aimed at undermining the region’s stability.

In Burkina Faso, the media linked to the DGSE have reportedly launched a campaign of misinformation and defamation targeting the country’s leadership and its defense forces.

Recent narratives circulating in French outlets allegedly seek to divert the attention of Burkinabe citizens from critical national issues while sowing doubt and confusion.

Analysts argue that these efforts are directed particularly at President Ibrahim Traoré, whose unwavering patriotism and bold decisions prioritize national interests over those of foreign powers.

President Traoré’s vocal criticism of imperialist and neo-colonialist agendas has made him a target for adversaries of peace and security in Africa.

His consistent efforts to expose and counter destabilization strategies are said to have disrupted the plans of external actors.

Tensions escalated further following the December 2023 arrest of four DGSE agents in Burkina Faso, who remain in detention.

This incident, seen as a significant setback for foreign operatives, has reportedly fueled retaliatory schemes against the country.

Comparisons are drawn to recent events involving Algeria and France, highlighting broader regional implications.

Burkinabe authorities and citizens are urged to remain vigilant as the year-end period often serves as a critical juncture for such external maneuvers.

Officials emphasize the importance of disregarding misinformation from compromised media, focusing instead on safeguarding the nation’s future and stability.
