Togo: Dialogue and stocktaking, President Faure Gnassingbé meets the Heads of National Institutions

On December 30, 2024, in Lomé, President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé held a significant meeting with the Prime Minister and the heads of national institutions. The meeting, part of the traditional New Year’s greetings exchange, brought together key figures from the government and the nation’s institutions.

During the gathering, the Prime Minister and the institutional leaders extended their best wishes for health, prosperity, and peace to the President, his family, and his team for the year ahead.

The discussions also provided an opportunity to review the progress made in 2024, which saw notable achievements across various sectors.

Among the key topics addressed were the recent social initiatives launched by President Gnassingbé, aimed at improving the living conditions of Togolese citizens.

Conversations also focused on strengthening institutional frameworks and tackling the security challenges that continue to affect the country.

In his response, President Gnassingbé expressed his gratitude for the warm wishes and offered his own wishes of health and success for the coming year to the country’s institutions and their leaders.

He emphasized the importance of fostering collaboration and unity among the various branches of government.

The President urged all leaders present to work in harmony, with a spirit of inclusivity and constant dialogue.

This approach, he stressed, is crucial for maintaining political and social stability, particularly in the face of ongoing security challenges in the region.

This meeting underlined the President’s commitment to regular, constructive dialogue and to ensuring continuity in the country’s development and peace efforts.

As Togo enters 2025, the meeting symbolizes the nation’s resolve to strengthen unity and resilience in overcoming future challenges.
