Joan Laporta slams Real Madrid over controversial Victory: “A disgraceful situation”

«What happened at the Bernabéu is a disgrace! » declared Joan Laporta, President of FC Barcelona, during the Mundo Deportivo Gala, expressing his perspective on Real Madrid’s controversial victory against Almeria on Sunday afternoon. This bold statement sparks an unprecedented scandal and heightens debates in Spain.

Laporta strongly criticized Real Madrid, accusing the Madrid team of benefiting from favorable refereeing decisions.

While trailing 0-2, the VAR intervened three times in favor of Madrid, allowing them to secure a 3-2 victory.

The president of Blaugrana emphasized the need for the referee team to respond to alleged pressures throughout the season, even going as far as suggesting resignations in the absence of appropriate responses.

«I think the referee team must respond to a series of pressures that have occurred throughout the season with the referees. The referee team must provide answers to the pressures they are receiving this season; if they do not, resignations are needed. In any case, I am happy because we won yesterday (against Real Betis). We feel stronger and more united, but what we want is sporting rewards», concluded Laporta
