Dortmund secures semi-final berth with thrilling 4-2 victory over Atletico Madrid

In a gripping quarter-final showdown, Borussia Dortmund triumphed over Atletico Madrid, securing their spot in the semi-finals with a 4-2 win (5-4 on aggregate).

The match was tense, with the score deadlocked at 0-0 until the final 15 minutes.

Mats Hummels broke the deadlock with a sublime pass to Julian Brandt, who found the net with a powerful strike to make it 1-0 for Dortmund.

Five minutes later, Ian Maatsen doubled Dortmund’s lead with a confident finish.

Atletico Madrid staged a comeback in the second half, reducing the deficit with an own goal from Matt Hummels and equalizing through Angel Correa.

However, Dortmund quickly regained control, with Niklas Fullkrug and Marcel Sabitzer adding two more goals to seal the victory.

Dortmund’s resilient performance saw them through to the semi-finals, where they will face Paris Saint-Germain in what promises to be another thrilling encounter.
