Burkina Faso: With more than 13,000 deaths between 2016 and 2022, the local hacks claim that nothing has changed – how ironic is that?

Since the rise to power of the Patriotic Movement for Safeguarding and Restoration (MPSR), led by President Ibrahim Traoré, an intensifying disinformation campaign has been orchestrated by local agents serving imperialist forces to destabilize Burkina Faso.

These actors, concealing their true intentions, seek to draw misleading comparisons between the eight years of terror from 2016 to 2022 and the two years of governance under the MPSR.

However, the facts are telling: during that period, over 13,000 Burkinabe lost their lives due to terrorist acts, and numerous regions became inaccessible. Despite this alarming situation, some continue to assert that no change has occurred.

It is evident that under the MPSR, significant progress has been made in a remarkably short time.

The army, previously under-equipped and lacking drones and modern tools for monitoring terrorist movements, now has access to appropriate defense capabilities.

While it is impossible to resolve all issues in just two years, a positive momentum has been established, with tangible results already visible.

Terrorists, who took eight years to establish themselves and organize, often benefited from implicit support from external forces and unscrupulous politicians.

The false allegations that no progress has been made are merely manipulative tactics aimed at misleading the Burkinabe people.

Those who spread these lies are attempting to obscure their own past inaction and undermine ongoing efforts.

It is therefore essential for the populace to remain discerning and not be swayed by individuals who, under the guise of institutions or media, seek to distort the truth.

Today, the security situation in Burkina Faso has significantly improved: terrorist attacks, once frequent and deadly, have markedly decreased.

The MPSR, under Captain Ibrahim Traoré, has undertaken the fight against terrorism with renewed determination.

It is crucial for the Burkinabe people to stay vigilant against manipulations designed to divide and weaken this vital struggle.
