Togo: Digital skills training and certification for 600 specialists

Togo has launched an international call for tenders to recruit a qualified organization to train 600 local experts in key digital fields: digital marketing, data science, and IT support. This initiative, led by the Togo Digital Agency (ATD), aims to strengthen national capacities in the area of digital transformation. It is part of the ProDigiT project, financially supported by the German development cooperation (GIZ), the European Union, and Luxembourg.

The goal is twofold: the selected provider must not only deliver high-quality training and internationally recognized certifications but also transfer its teaching methods and training materials to local institutions. This transfer of skills will enable these training centers to independently offer certified programs, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the project.

Through this effort, Togo aims to build a self-sufficient national expertise in digital professions while addressing the growing demand for skilled workers in the sector. The 600 trained professionals will play a crucial role in accelerating the country’s digital transformation by bringing advanced technical skills in areas such as data analysis, IT systems management, and digital strategy.

This project aligns with the vision of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Digital Transformation, which sees training as a cornerstone for building a strong and competitive digital ecosystem. With this program, Togo is not only investing in human capital but also laying the foundation for a resilient and innovative digital economy.

Through this initiative, the country reaffirms its commitment to becoming a key player in Africa’s technological revolution—relying on solid partnerships and high-quality training.
