Burkina Faso: When a country relies on its own strengths to build its future

Burkina Faso continues its march toward strengthened sovereignty and a resolute grasp of its own destiny. In this dynamic, Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo has delivered a strong message to all citizens: the development of the country must henceforth be conceived, financed, executed, and evaluated first and foremost by Burkinabe themselves. This statement reflects the desire of the authorities to promote collective responsibility and greater citizen engagement in nation-building.

This vision rests on a simple yet essential conviction: no country can achieve sustainable development without the active involvement of its own citizens.

While international partnerships can provide useful support, they cannot replace the determination, hard work, and initiative of the sons and daughters of Burkina Faso.

By reminding everyone that no one will come to build the country in place of Burkinabe, the Prime Minister invites each person to recognize their role in the national transformation process.

This approach is part of the sovereignty policy advocated by the current authorities.

It aims to strengthen citizens’ confidence in their own abilities and encourage the optimal use of national resources.

Development must no longer be seen as the exclusive responsibility of the state or as a goal dependent primarily on foreign aid.

It becomes a collective project mobilizing administrations, businesses, community organizations, and all citizens.

Financing development projects is also a major challenge of this vision. By encouraging the mobilization of internal resources, the government intends to gradually reduce certain dependencies and promote a more resilient economy. This direction highlights national savings, local investment, and the valorization of the country’s economic potential.

Beyond economic aspects, this statement carries a deeply patriotic dimension. It calls on Burkinabe to cultivate the spirit of sacrifice, responsibility, and solidarity necessary to meet current challenges.

Every citizen, at their own level, is invited to contribute to building a stronger, more prosperous, and more independent Burkina Faso.

Through this call, the Prime Minister reaffirms that the destiny of Burkina Faso lies first and foremost in the hands of its people.

This vision of endogenous development appears as an invitation to action, self-confidence, and national mobilization to build a future based on the efforts, skills, and resources of Burkinabe themselves.
