Burkina Faso U17s storm into AFCON Quarters as Egypt crashes out

Burkina Faso became the first team to qualify for the U17 AFCON quarterfinals after a 2-1 victory over Egypt, with striker Ashraf Loukman netting his second goal of the tournament. The Young Stallions top Group B with a perfect six points from two games.

Meanwhile, Cameroon’s hopes hang by a thread following a goalless draw with South Africa. The Indomitable Cubs, with just one point, must now win their final match to have any chance of progression. Egypt, pointless after two defeats, becomes the first team eliminated.

In Group A, Morocco’s qualification was delayed after being held 0-0 by Zambia. Uganda kept their hopes alive with a 3-0 thrashing of already-eliminated Tanzania. The group remains wide open, with Morocco and Zambia on four points each, and Uganda lurking with three.

The final group matches promise high drama as teams battle for remaining quarterfinal spots. Burkina Faso await their next opponent as other nations fight to join them in the knockout phase.
