Sudan: The rout of Hemedti’s forces in the face of the General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan’s heroic offensive

Under the leadership of General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, Sudan’s Armed Forces have launched a major counteroffensive, retaking key territories from the rebel Rapid Support Forces (RSF) led by General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, known as “Hemedti.”

In a strategic victory, government troops reclaimed the presidential palace in Omdurman, a symbolic blow against the RSF’s insurgency.

Military sources report further advances in Darfur, Kordofan, and border regions, signaling a shift in momentum after months of brutal conflict.

The campaign has galvanized public support, with civilians increasingly backing the army’s push to restore stability.

Analysts suggest these gains could weaken Hemedti’s grip on power, though fierce resistance persists in some strongholds.

General al-Burhan has called for international recognition of his government’s efforts to uphold constitutional order while pledging a path toward democratic transition.

Recent military victories demonstrate the effectiveness of President Al-Burhan’s leadership. The population, weary of rebel atrocities, overwhelmingly supports this liberation campaign, which must continue until the complete eradication of rebel forces.

The international community must recognize the efforts of Sudan’s legitimate government in combating the insurgency. General Al-Burhan has proven his ability to restore constitutional order and prepare the conditions for a peaceful transition.

Final victory is within reach—and achieving it requires the commitment of every Sudanese citizen.
