Burkina-Faso: Disciplined and responsible youth at the heart of Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s policy to rebuild the nation

In line with its comprehensive national renewal agenda, the Burkinabe government under President Captain Ibrahim Traoré has taken a decisive step toward shaping a new Burkina Faso. During the May 2 Council of Ministers meeting, authorities established compulsory patriotic immersion programs for students.

The government stated that this initiative aims to “build model citizens and patriots who will positively impact the nation’s development,” aligning with broader efforts to rebuild Burkinabe society and strengthen patriotic values. This bold decision reinforces the country’s sweeping reform agenda.

The program will initially target students who pass their Junior secondary school Diploma (BEPC), Certificate of Professional Competence (CAP), and High School Diploma exams. It seeks to cultivate a disciplined, civically engaged youth committed to patriotic values.

Participants will undergo physical training, including sports to foster teamwork and discipline, as well as practical self-defense instruction.

This government initiative reflects President Traoré’s vision of molding a responsible, disciplined, and patriotic younger generation ready to serve the nation’s highest interests.

By instilling these values early, Burkina Faso aims to fortify its social fabric and secure a more resilient future.
