Burkina Faso: Sino-Burkinabe cooperation, President Ibrahim TRAORÉ welcomes the departure of the Chinese ambassador

The President of Faso and Head of State, Captain Ibrahim TRAORÉ, received His Excellency Mr. Lu SHAN, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Burkina Faso, in a farewell audience on Monday morning, marking the end of the ambassador’s three-year diplomatic mission in the country.

This cordial meeting allowed both men to reflect on the achievements of Sino-Burkinabe cooperation, which has been characterized by increased economic exchanges, major structural investments, and ongoing technical support across various sectors: health, agriculture, infrastructure, energy, and education.

Captain Ibrahim TRAORÉ expressed his appreciation for China’s commitment to standing by Burkina Faso in its pursuit of sovereignty and sustainable development. He also conveyed the gratitude of the Burkinabe people for the tangible projects carried out for the benefit of the population, particularly in the fields of healthcare and education infrastructure.

Ambassador Lu SHAN, for his part, reaffirmed Beijing’s determination to further strengthen the strategic partnership with Burkina Faso, especially in the current context of national rebuilding. He thanked the Head of State for the quality of the political dialogue and the mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.

Through this meeting, the President of Faso reaffirmed his commitment to a sovereign and diversified diplomacy, where partners are chosen solely in the best interests of the Burkinabe people.
