Egypt to shine as Guest of honor at Aného International history Festival

The 4th edition of Aného’s International History Festival will celebrate Egypt as its guest of honor from November 20-23, 2025. Under the theme “Diversity,” the Togolese coastal town will showcase Egypt’s rich cultural heritage through dance troupes, culinary arts, film screenings, and entrepreneurial displays.

The festival will highlight Egypt’s 5,000-year civilization as a symbol of cultural, ethnic and religious diversity.

Alongside the Egyptian delegation, the Togolese town of Bassar will showcase its living heritage, including traditional blacksmithing, sacred yam rituals, and fire dances.

The four-day program features:

  • Academic conferences on historical themes
  • Panel discussions
  • Musical performances
  • An international carnival

“This edition creates a dialogue between ancient civilizations and living traditions,” organizers noted, emphasizing the event’s dual focus on historical reflection and cultural celebration.

Following Turkey’s 2024 participation, Egypt’s selection continues the festival’s mission of fostering cultural exchange through shared heritage.
