Burkina-Faso/Centre-Sud: Captain Ibrahim Traoré reaffirms his development policy based on endogenous resources

The visit of the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, to the Centre-South region once again underscored his commitment to the security and economic development of Burkina Faso. From the official graduation ceremony of the “Capitaine-ZOUMA-Maxime” officer class, to the planting of medicinal tree groves, and discussions with local stakeholders, President Traoré reaffirmed his vision of national development rooted in local potential and driven by a progressive popular revolution.

By promoting a development strategy based on endogenous resources, Captain Ibrahim Traoré is laying the foundations for participatory and transparent governance. This approach also reflects his determination to promote local expertise in order to strengthen the development policies advocated by the government.

This vision is embodied in several ongoing projects, including the creation of regional road construction brigades under the Faso Mêbo initiative, the enhancement of healthcare facilities through the construction of 25 community health centers, and the transformation of the education system by prioritizing vocational training to support industrial units. The ultimate goal is to equip each region with an industrial zone and foster an autonomous Burkinabe economy capable of processing its own resources.

Notable examples include the National Office for Dams and Hydro-Agricultural Development (ONBAH) and the National Land Development and Rural Equipment Corporation (SONATER), both contributing to the country’s agricultural and water self-sufficiency efforts.

Additionally, President Traoré announced major reforms of the banking system and the creation of a national brigade to ensure discipline, a key pillar in the country’s national refoundation process.
