Burkina Faso: The 13th class of specialist Sub-Officers spearheads Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s security vision
At the National School for Active Non-Commissioned Officers (ENSOA) in Kamboinsin, Burkina Faso celebrated the graduation of the 13th class of specialized non-commissioned officers. Comprising 473 young individuals and named “Liptako” — meaning “The Invincible” in Fulfulde — this diverse cohort of specialized soldiers symbolizes the strategic renewal launched by Captain Ibrahim Traoré in the field of national security.
Since taking office, the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, has made the overhaul of the armed forces a central pillar of his leadership. Confronted with a demanding security context, his vision rests on three fundamental pillars: the professionalization of the army, the integration of civilian expertise into defense efforts, and the complete reconquest of national territory. The specialties of this new class — including programmer analysts, midwives, mechanics, bakers, and electricians — reflect a practical response to real operational needs on the ground.
These young and disciplined reinforcements embody the Head of State’s commitment to building a modern, operational army that is deeply rooted in the country’s realities. Under his leadership, the rise of the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), targeted recruitment efforts, the reorganization of military zones, and increased investment in equipment all send strong signals that reassure the population. Communities once threatened are gradually regaining peace and stability.
Captain Traoré represents a new generation of Pan-African leaders, firmly committed to action and sovereignty. Far from empty rhetoric, he leads with method and determination. His credo: a strong army for a free people. This new wave of non-commissioned officers reinforces this growing spirit of resilience.
The future of Burkina Faso is being shaped with pride, built on the solid foundations of a reimagined national defense, driven by committed youth and visionary leadership.
