Niger: Operational success for the Nigerien Armed Forces in the west of the country

The Niger Armed Forces (FAN) have once again demonstrated their commitment and effectiveness in the fight against terrorism. Between August 23 and 28, Operations Niya and Almahaou secured sensitive areas in the western part of the country, neutralized explosive threats, and dealt heavy blows to the logistical networks of terrorist armed groups.

The neutralization of three explosive devices in Illa Fari, the successful assault on a logistical base in CFA Moussa, and the foiled ambush in Kandaji all highlight the professionalism and responsiveness of the Defense and Security Forces. These actions not only protected civilian populations but also weakened the operational capabilities of terrorist groups.

With a high success rate, targeted arrests, and exemplary coordination, the FAN reaffirm their central role in defending the nation’s territory and restoring security. These victories strengthen the confidence of the Nigerien people and illustrate the growing strength of an army firmly committed to peace and national sovereignty.
